Whos The Best Howlin' Wolf Or Muddy Waters?

Whos The Best Howlin' Wolf Or Muddy Waters?

Neither

wolf by far

Sorry but I like them equally, both are incomparable in their particular style of the blues

AJ

both damm good, cant choose between

toss up really. both have had MAJOR influences on the roots of rock and roll, r&b, and todays Blues

i like both

Maybe you should ask Hubert Sumlin, he played guitar for both. I heard in an interview by him that he actually liked to play for Howlin Wolf alot better because Wolf always took care of his band and paid them better.

Both men had a huge impact on the direction of the Blues and both were AWSOME. From a personal standpoint, I'ld have to go with the Hoochie Coochie Man, Mr Muddy Waters.

i have to go with howlin' wolf, but both of them were incredibly important.

You pays your money you makes your choice.
Neither was better than the other.
Each has their own loyal fanbase and we are all the better for the music they gave us.

Music shouldn't be about competition, they were both equally unique.

I refuse to answer on the grounds I can't choose! YOu picked a pretty even match up. they performed together often also, and recorded together. I'm just going to say that about this question.

If I tossed a coin for this, it would land on it's edge. To no one's surprise.

Tough call, but I think I'd give it to Muddy.

They each offer their own unique style but I prefer Muddy Waters.

Muddy Waters, hands down. From an old gal who has seen a lot of the greats during my hippie days especially. At least I remember some of 60's. Then I grew up and still manage to get to a few of the concerts.

Muddy Waters, he brought electric to the world! Where would we be without him? The Rolling stones would have been called something lame like The Maggots (thats not a dig at the Beatles but you catch my drift).

I prefer Muddy Waters. My all time favorite blues album (CD) is Muddy Waters And Friends - Fathers And Sons. The backup band includes Paul Butterfield, Mike Bloomfield, Otis Spann. It was a double album from the late 60s / early 70s.
I do like Howlin Wolf a lot though.

In the words of Jon Seneca"muddy water's invented electricity"

Both of them legends but I have to give the edge to Muddy. Electric Mud is one of the greatest albums, of any genre, of all time.

Not to brag or anything but Chester Burnett aka "HOWLIN' WOLF'' is my cousin . I'm going with Wolf!!!!!!

While I thought Leadbelly was one of the best, my vote is with McKinley Morganfield! Tough call, HW is increadible too

Oh that's too hard,,,,
Cant choose,,,
Head going to expload,,,,
Love them equally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he he....i d go for Howlin Wolf.

neither are any good because they are both dead.

Why can't you accept them both for their own merit?

Howlin Wolf . . . no question about it

This is a no-brainer- Muddy is absolutely the man. He's the quintessential bluesman. He had it all- looks, voice, chops, and he wrote half of all the blues tunes ever written. His importance and influence cannot be overstated.

I like them both, really can't choose.

hands down Muddy Waters. He makes the blues funny like Champagne and Reefer from an old CD. he's one of the better legendary blues singers out there

Neither, I the gritty soul of Howlin' Wolf's voice and I like the deep blues power of Muddy Waters. They are on the same playing field literally.

I like them both equally
