Which blues songs have the best guitar lines? |
I want to learn some blues songs on the guitar. I dont listen to the blues so I dont know where to start. I dont care if the overall song is good or bad, Im just looking for some quality guitar riffs. Any suggestions? my favorite is gary moores ive still got the blues for you. if you can get those riffs, youll have no problems. its not so much the riffs, but the timing and the feel is the thing. theres a song by micheal bloomfield called killing floor. you can download it from limewire. in his solos, which go thru most of the song, almost every basic blues riff is played, and to perfection. i first heard it in 1967, and still am amazed today, of how perfect it is. nope I dont like blues Roy Buchanon... " Ramon's Blues" Check out some Clapton songs. Albert King is a pretty darn good blues man too!! Try the Allman Brothers. Songs like "Tied to the Whipping Post", "Midnight Rider" and "Gypsy Fly" are a few songs that have a Southern Blues/Rock and Roll style that just makes you want to tap your feet no matter what mood your in. Anything from John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. And, I know that this isn't *technically* the blues, but The White Stripes' "Ball and Biscuit" is a pretty awesome bluesy-type song. Jonny Lang, Eric Clapton Little Wing - Jimi. SRV's intrepretation is even better. if you want the greatest blues listen to remakes of the late great Robert Johnson. anything by b.b. king or stevie ray vaughn If you want some authentic blues riffs try some slide guitar. For examples check out anything by Robert Johnson or Muddy Waters. For a "newer" blues sound check out the riffs on "Texas Flood" by Stevie Ray Vaughn. I bought the Stevie Ray Vaughan album Blues at Sunrise and that is how I learned to play the blues. Once you learn the blues lead pattern you can play nearly every song on the album. Listen to some Stevie Ray Vaughan. Joe Bonamassa , Kenny W. Shepard , ZZtop ... |
