Can you recomend some good accoustic blues songs?

the older the better

You definitely should buy The Complete Recordings of Robert Johnson. He is the ultimate country blues artist. Some other great, old, acoustic blues artists to check out are:
Leadbelly
Blind Willie Johnson
Blind Willie McTell
Son House
Charley Patton
Skip James
Mississippi John Hurt
Mississippi Fred McDowell
Lonnie Johnson
Big Bill Broonzy
Leroy Carr with Scrapper Blackwell
Blind Blake
Blind Boy Fuller
Lightnin Hopkins
Sleepy John Estes
Bukka White

I also recommend any of the field recordings made by Alan Lomax. He worked for the Library of Congress and his job was to preserve traditional American music by traveling around the country with a portable recorder finding local musicians to record. I especially recommend his "Southern Journey" recordings made in the 60's. He used the first portable equipment that would record in stereo. He traveled through the South, recording people at churches, prisons, street corners, houses, etc. It's some pretty amazing stuff that would have been lost forever if he hadn't been so passionate about preserving it.

anything by Robert Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, or early Muddy Waters records

Well not old..but Eric Claptons...
And Buddy Guys....
also how about Robert Johnson very old.
Many artist have a acoustic cd out...just ck. the blues section..go to towerrecords.com you will find so many...have a great time!

John the Revelator
Edward James "Son" House, Jr

I found the lyrics here http://www.harptab.com/lyrics/ly5019.sht...

I think the white stripes coverd it.

In addition to the previous recommendations, try Skip James. His original recordings are incredible. For a specific song, you can't beat "Devil Got My Woman," though Eric Clapton preferred "I'm So Glad."

A "newer" artist, from the 50's and 60's is Robert Pete Williams. I've never heard any quite as unusual, original, or personal as his stuff. I think just about anything from his It's a Long Old Road album is a good introduction. For specific songs off that album, try "Somebody Help Poor Me," "Ugly," and "It's a Long Old Road."

walking blues is simple and really good.

I can recommend some people:
Mississippi John Hurt, Robert Johnson, Josh White Jr., (early) Muddy Waters, (early) Bonnie Raitt, Blind Willie Johnson, Lightning Hopkins (He is like an acoustic version of John Lee Hooker.), ...
Are you a musician? Guitar? Can you play bottleneck?

Get the Robert Johnson collection..can't go wrong.

Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Mississippi John Hurt, Lightning Hopkins, and of course Eric Clapton.

Shuggie's Boogie by Shuggie Otis. It's on a greatcd entitled Shuggie Otis Plays the Blues

Acoustic blues songs I recommend are:
Country Boy Blues,
Come Back Baby,
Trouble in Mind,
Rock Me,
Baby, Baby Please Don't Go,
Trouble in Mind

check your local public radio, some usually have a blues
hour. in Arkansas, Tn. ^Ms. it is 88.3 fm. 3-4, m-f

i dont know who redid it but a man down in new orleans did a cover of Crossroads by EC on acoustic sounded amazing. you could try before you acuse me. when a man loves a women ( stratoblasters version) any muddy waters, robert cray-eric johnson( if you got a good acoustic) my biggest thing isdont learn it note for note leave out some parts and improvise on it. youll get better, and it wont be just the same old song that everyone has heard. itll get their attention.

In my opinion, the best acoustic blues, Piedmont Blues to be exact, can be heard on any of Cephas and Wiggins' CDs. John Cephas and Phil Wiggins are masters of the finger-picking guitar style and blues harp accompaniment. Look no further.

Well, it's not old, but you should pick up Keb' Mo's first CD. Lots of great Acoustic stuff there. His followup CDs are all great too, but the one with the most acoustic stuff is the first one.

I think people have already mentioned Robert Johnson, Honeyboy Edwards, Blind Blake, and stuff like that, if you want the really old stuff.

Everyone has given you really good advice but they seem to have forgotten Bessie Smith and Big Mama Thorton.
Check out the collections section at your local music store.
There are some really good Cd's with many artists so you can find the style that you like best. Old blues can be really great but every player appeals to a different audience.

I didn't see this one in your other answers. It's not old music, but a familiar 'Oldies' artist. "Bronx in Blue" by Dion. Fantastic sound.

the complete recordings of robert johnson
buddy guy alone and acoustic
an evening with big bill broonzy

"Life by the Drop" by Stevie Ray Vaughn
And
Anything from Robert Johnson. When both guys play, it sounds more like two or three guys instead of one.

Rude Mood by stevie ray vaughan, he plays a great acoustic version of it. Also, most Clapton unplugged.
