Have you heard the blues? Not many blues songs are happy songs. Cause the colour BLUE is a "depressing" colour (except baby blue) I think it refers to the subject matter and mood of most traditional blues songs. (As in "feeling blue") In general the blues are living with oppression leaning on depression and dependent on injection. You live with it, deal with it and share it. It is an original music form in America based upon b7, b5, b3 of Maj scale. Listen to the lyrics. Blue means sad. It comes from the saying, "Don't hold your breath waiting for him/her to call." Blues aint nuthin but a good man feeling bad. Because society (puritans etc.) at one time had "blue" words which were not spoken???? you gotta have the blues to know the blues |
