I would call it Classical, because it is almost as old as Mozart, plus it is the BASIS of all other music genres.
Jazz musicians liken Jazz to Gumbo, but Blues is the Roux, the basis of Gumbo. Now, you can have any kind of Gumbo you like, but not without first mixing up that Roux and cooking it slowly until it is dark brown. In that precess it turns from white (because Roux is made of flour and water), to yellow to brown, every shade of human skin color, meaning anyone of any race and creed can sing the Blues and be good at it. Japanese are excellent at Blues,... whites, too, blacks of course, too. Indians, too.
