Don van Vliet is apparently called Captain Beefheart .. I have been led to believe there are a couple of reasons for this name ..Can you tell me what they may be? ("A carrot is as close as a rabbit ever gets to a diamond"..is a great song title..Yeah?) Any thoughts on this? I remember reading Frank Zappa's autobiography many years ago. DvV was hanging out with his girlfriend at her house one day, and apparently, she had this demented male relative (no pun intended) who used to expose himself and talk to his member, saying things like 'you look like a big old beef heart!"
