Who is (was) the better guitarist between Jimmie Vaughan and Stevie Ray Vaughan... I realize they have different approaches to playing but am curious as to whom you think is better technically if you asked Jimmie, i think he would say Stevie! Thanks for choosing my answer, and I'm jealous of my friend in Chi-town for loosing track of seeing him after the 7th time. He said the line went out the bar and around the corner, and this was before his first album! Report It Stevie Ray beyond question. Stevie Ray Definitely Stevie Ray Vaughn is the superior guitarist but I know a lot of people beg to differ. Many people think Jimmy Vaughn is better. It's a matter of personal taste I suppose. But from a guitarist's stand point. Stevie was the better player. Very few people could solo like Stevie Ray Vaughn at a live gig. Oddly enough Stevie thought that Jimmie was the better player and Jimmie thought Stevie was. Just how it should be. Blues is a feel not a technique. Stevie Ray was by far the better blues guitarist.... If anybody says Jimmie I am gonna turn there balls into custard pies!! Oh and of course Stevie is the best. stevie, of course Listen to Stevie Ray's version of the old Hendrix song "Little Wing". The answer will become obvious as you hear the true definition of 'making a guitar speak'. Stevie Ray Vaughan was better than most electric blues guitarist on the planet, let alone his brother. |
