Does listening to the blues mean you are depressed, sad, or lonely? |
Does listening to the blues mean you are depressed, sad, or lonely? No,I've listened to blues every day since I was about 18.50 now, if I was that depressed for that long I would have killed myself already. I love the blues and I am not dressed No it just means you like blues music. Don't worry about it and just enjoy the music. That could be for some, for others blues tell a story. be it love or hate you know it's a thin line. Joe simon "it be's that way sometimes", Bobby Bland "ain't no love in the heart of the city" Ann Peebles" I can't stand the rain" We take music and make it apart of our everyday lives, on a hot summer day when I'am issed about having to cook in the hot kitchen I will put on some blues and before you know the pity party turns into a plain party because of the love of music. Just my thoughts Blues makes me incredibly happy, and amorous. no way, it makes me happy. it is just called the blues. There is comfort in knowing that other people hurt too. You may notice that most fans of blues music are earthy, more "in touch" with the world. You may feel you can most relate to these primitive, emotional musical styles. I think even the happiest of people can still feel the deepest of pain. Not at all. I play guitar and I first got into blues from a musicians angle. Its easy to jam to. The chord progressions are easy. The pentatonic minor scale (blues scale) is easy to learn. Its just a great style of music. "the blues ain't nothin' but a good man feelin' bad" NO! I like blues-rock! I play it an listen to it a lot - its what I like!!! No, though many blues fans like others have our ups and downs. Some of my favorite songs boost my energy level and have my toes tapping. Much of the time YES!! That's just me. Sometimes. Man the blues is Rock and Roll. Without the blues there would be no punk or Metal or Rock it doesnt mean ur sad most blues isnt sad its the beginning for every guitarist and musician. thats why most people suck at guitar and music they dont go back to the roots. Most kiddy bands dont even have solo's thats cause they dont know how to do them cause they dont know what a blues scale is! No it just means you are human enough to feel! It might be called "The Blues" but it hardly means all of the songs are sad and slow. A short music history lesson: slaves would sing while working in the fields to pass the time and to help keep a "rhythm" to their work (some suggest some of the singing was a way to secretly pass messages). Naturally alot of the music was sad because they were slaves. Over time this music evolved into Blues. The Blues is the granddaddy of all other forms of American music, jazz, country, R&B, and rock. Blues is also very regional in sound, Delta Blues from the deep south will sound different from Chicago Blues or Memphis Blues. But much of Blues music is upbeat in tempo and actually makes you feel happy and want to sing and dance! It honestly depends on the mood of the song. In my opinion, the blues doesnt mean your sad or lonely. It just makes you feel better about it. Kind of the artist is going through the same thing. Then cheers you up NO! it means your alive It means you are a SOULFUL, feeling human being!!! You might be. Or you might be angry, defiant, happy, in love or lust, or ready to just go out and raise some hell. The blues covers all of those and more. Listening to the blues makes you feel alive, and know that you're ready to go another day, no matter what the world throws at you. Blues is more than just music it is an insight into ones own soul. You do not have to be depressed to listen to blues, you need to explore and listen to all blues there are so many artists with thier own interpetation of music. When I listen to the blues I want to dance, sing along, or just listen. The stories behind the words are worth listening to. No, just in touch with yourself and your world. Blues is not depressing. Listen to Albert Collins-I ain't drunk, I'm just drinkin, I don't care what the people are thinkin! I LOVE blues music. Hence the name Texasblueslady. I love the beat of blues and just really get into the mood of it. And oh baby just get into the bump and grind when you're dancin! There's a great little blues bar in Houston called the Shakespeare Pub and they have blues music about 7 nights a week. Great place and everyone from all ages and all walks of life hang there and everyone dances and has a great time. No it dosent. im not depressed sad and lonely. Blues makes me happy. |
