Female Blues Singers? |
I am trying to find a song I heard awhile back and it is driving me crazy because I can't think of the name or the artist. It may have been Billie Holiday but I think it was someone that was similar to her. The song is something about a good man and a no good woman I think. If you are a bug fan of the blues let me know and I will try to explain more of the song to see if you can help. Thanks for the tips...I love blues and I of know most of the "stars" but I could not place the song and after hearing Billie Holiday no good man on my Ipod it triggered the memory of the other song, I just couldn't think of it, and you know how annoying that can be. But I found it, it was Do Right Woman Do Right Man by Aretha Franklin. Heres all the female blues singers that I can think of: i think you may be talking about "no good man" by billie holiday. doesnt she have an amazing voice? Check out: Bessie Smith - Song List: OLDIES.com check out Janis Joplin probably bessie smith if your a blues fan you,ll love her I find it interesting that she found her answer was Aretha Franklin, who is known as a soul singer. Just goes to show you how closely related music is and how R&B, Soul, and Rock got their start from the Blues. Try Etta James, KoKo Taylor and of course Aretha Franklin. Aretha's Dr. Feelgood is the standard to go by. |
