What note harp {harmonica} did blues legends Howlin Wolf and Sonny Boy Williamson favor?

This question has come up before.....try A,C, or D....sometimes G (moaning the blues). Alex Miller favored the G, but was known to play a 12, or 14 hole harp at times.
