What are some novice blues licks for guitar?

i know two easy ones already do you possibly know anything that uses slide?

Tune your guitar to open "g"

from lowest sounding string to highest: D G D G B D

Your I chord is the open strings, your IV chord is on the 5th fret, your V chord is over the 7th fret. You get good high tones on the 12th fret, and your blue notes appear mostly on the 3rd fret, with some other nice ones on the 10th fret.

Have a look at the video on my myspace:

that is some basic slide playing using independence of thumb and fingers. Go slow, pick up one or two riffs and HAVE FUN!

I learned listening to Mike Bloomfield yrs. ago.. He was one of my favorites until I discovered slide guitar. Arlen Roth has some good video's on how to play slide.. I learned from Greg Douglass(Steve Miller Band) when I was about 16. Ry Cooder is a good slide player as is Johnny Winter, Warren Haynes, Butch Trucks, Elvin Bishop and my fav.. Duane Allman.. Listen to Cd's or find a good instructor to lead you in the right direction. Blues licks, scales etc.. are easy, it's how you phrase them that makes the music.

You can find some good lessons on youtube. For example:

Try this Albert King lick
|-8^--6------6^-----8^--6-------6-----...
|---------8~-----------------8--8----8...
|-------------------------------------...
|-------------------------------------...
|-------------------------------------...
|-------------------------------------...

Otherwise, you can make stuff up using the BB King Box mini scale. BB King never strays from these 5 notes on the major pentatonic

|--0--|-----|--0--|----|
|--0--|-----|--0--|----|
|------|--0-|------|----|
|------|-----|------|----|
|------|-----|------|----|
|------|-----|------|----|

well you can use any of the blues lessons from www.cyberfret.com or there is this video slide lesson that I found. http://www.guitar.com/kimonf/blog/introd...
it is very informative.
