Who is your favourite Blues artist?

Mine is Stevie Ray Vaughn.

its a toss up between bb king and stevie ray both are amazing talents

leanord cohen

BB King

Ry Cooder, when he's in a blues mood. After that (or before, actually), Leadbelly and people of that era.

Picasso.

Johnny Nitro and the Door Slammers from "Blues" bar in San Francisco, on Lombard Street (at the bottom.)

Too many! Sonny Terry must be the greatest blues harmonica player ever.

Yeah Vaughn is excellent, but I like the raw sound of the great B.B King. His song `Guess Who` is a classic. I also like south African blues man, J.B Hutto.

Amy Whinehouse for sure.

Muddy Waters!

Otis redding, b.b. king

Rory Gallagher!!!

Far too many greats to pick just one. Muddy Waters, John Hammond, John Lee Hooker, Sonny boy 1 & 2, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee, George Thorogood and the list goes on and on.
I do prefer the very early artists like Robert Johnson, Mississippi Fred McDowell and Ruth Brown.
Can't go wrong with any of them.

Today - I'm gonna say Blind Blake.

STILL can't seem to find anyone else can play guitar like that!

Walter Trout. A phenomenal Blues artist. Even more amazing in concert.

Howling Wolf (real name: Chester Burnett) - no voice has even come close! virtually invented 2 guitar funk waaay before james brown was doing it. (no disrespect intended)

Peter Green when he was in Fleetwood Mac.
This guy could make BB King sweat. He said so himself.

Eric Clapton. Check out the album From the Cradle that's got some cracking Blues riffs on there.

Ray Charles as well

Robert Johnson or Ledbelly

John Lee Hooker is the true king. Koko Taylor is the true queen. nobody else comes close or they are just white wanna bes. Not even eric clapton can get that feeling. Nobody. No, not bb king. he is a nice man who made a good living. Only one man is the pivital blues artist -- John Lee Hooker.

Blue ????? I prefer Black artists

Roosevelt "The Honeydripper" Sykes.

Johnny Lee Hooker. But I agree Stevie was great too.

Robert Johnson,Muddy Waters,Willie Dixon,Ry Cooder,Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee,Blind Lemon Jefferson,Stevie Ray Vaughan,John Lee Hooker.All Brilliant.
Let's not forget the ladies -Bessie Smith,Mahalia Jackson,Koko Taylor and Etta James.Equally so.

Pick one?Impossible task but I never go a day without listening to my Ry Cooder tape.
