Is blues a girl or a boy?

Is blues a girl or a boy?

In recent years, blue is for a boy and pink for a girl but in medieval times it was the other way around as blue was seen as softer than pink. Pink, being a light shade of red, was used for boys.

Or are you talking about music? The blues is sung by both male and female. I think it oroginated from African Americans (it's been years since I did music at school where you learn this - 8 years!! lol)

Traditionally, its blue for a boy, pink for a girl

boy

boy
deep ,hard to get the point across
deep in the melody
slow

Are we talking blue - the colour, or Blues - the musical genre?

Blues is often very male dominated, but there are a few female blues artists.

is the question about music or baby clothes?

blues, music... is a old lady that's seen it all and survived and sings her sweet sad melody to comfort the weary and downtrodden.

blue for a boy pink for a girl, lemon or white would do for both

If you mean Blue from Blue's Clues that is a girl and Magenta is a boy. Weird, isn't it?

Apparently blue is for a boy and pink is for a girl from evolutionary hunter/gatherer times.

Boys liked blue and so when the sky was blue on a good day for hunting they'd be more positive hunters
Girls liked pink and so would distinguish pink and red coloured berries against green foliage.

Apparently

I don't have a CLUE.

The first blues superstars were women.

Starting with Mamie Smith's recording of "Crazy Blues" in 1920

Edited to add:
I remembered - T-bone Walker says:

Blues is a woman, a woman that I call my own
I'm happy when she's near me, sad when she leaves me all alone

at the end of the day its a boy

If you are talking about the music....it's Mother Blues

A girl

after all

"The Blues Had A Baby and They Called It Rock and Roll"

Proof!!!!

To clarify a little, the first Blues star was NOT a woman, but W. C. Handy, as in Handy Park, Memphis, Tennessee. His big hit of the day was" St. Louis Blues."

It is also not always slow. Take for instance Little Milton's "Out Go the Lights". Now that song SWINGS as much as it rocks!

They aren'usually SAD either. Blues is what people sing when THEY'RE sad to make them happy again.

Now, on to my answer: A B.B. King song says, "Blues had a baby, and they called it Rock & Roll". Therefore I would say that if Blues had a child - or children, it must be equal part man and woman. That's the way I like to think of it. Blues is in ALL of us!

The blues can be a boy with a high voice or a girl with a moustache. Both have paid their dues for a right to play the blues.

boy

The blues is bitchh.Nobody knows you when you're down and out.

Both,if you wake up and it's raining, you could get the rainy day blues.Boy or girl.

the blues is a girl because it is generally women (girls) who give us men (boys) the blues!!!

The blues is a girl minus a boy.
Or vice versa.

"Woke up this morning" da da-da da-da
"My babys gone and left me" da da-da da-da.

You know how it goes.

The blues can be a guy or girl crooning about their heartache.

the blues is not a boy or girls thing. its an everyone thing. Its talks to people soul, hearts and feet. It is ones expresses, feelings, mood and heart. dismiss the notation that if the blues is for a boy or girl.

blues stands for boys!!!!

ps. i hope u got the answer u wanted

for both

both

A girl, it says so in the lyrics

whats that got to do with blues?
