Fender Highway 1Stratocaster guitar?

Anyone have one, do they sound good, how's the playability? DO you recommend the highway 1 or the american standard strat and why?

I play blues and classic rock style music and am looking for a new guitar

Thanks

Fender markets the Highway 1 as a "no frills, high-performance workhorse guitar. The more you beat 'em up, the cooler they look." The American Strat seems to be a little more refined with better features, such as hand-rolled fingerboard edges, three staggered single-coil pickups, five-way switching and two-point synchronized tremolo.

I think the American is a better choice for your style.

Both of them are high quality, personally I like the highway one more.

I've always stuck with the American Standard Version myself. A few guys I know like Telecasters, and Gibson SG like Angus Young and Dickey Betts play.

I play a standard (Mexican) strat. It's great for blues and jazz. Think about what some other blues/rock artists use! Clapton uses a strat (American), also a Les Paul. Many blues/rockers use the strat. It's easy to keep in tune, easy to play and has at least 5 tones. I even know one artist in Hawaii who plays a strat that he built and modified (he's an engineer) to have something like 70 tones!
You can use the strat with a good amp with a pedal and effects and you have a great blues instrument.
Remember: play what's comfortable and fun for you, not what you think everyone else will admire.
You can use the strat to play rock, blues, and even jazz tones. You can also upgrade many of the standard strat features with different pickups and tuners as well.
Keep playing! Have fun!
