Fender Highway 1Stratocaster guitar? |
Anyone have one, do they sound good, how's the playability? DO you recommend the highway 1 or the american standard strat and why? Fender markets the Highway 1 as a "no frills, high-performance workhorse guitar. The more you beat 'em up, the cooler they look." The American Strat seems to be a little more refined with better features, such as hand-rolled fingerboard edges, three staggered single-coil pickups, five-way switching and two-point synchronized tremolo. Both of them are high quality, personally I like the highway one more. I've always stuck with the American Standard Version myself. A few guys I know like Telecasters, and Gibson SG like Angus Young and Dickey Betts play. I play a standard (Mexican) strat. It's great for blues and jazz. Think about what some other blues/rock artists use! Clapton uses a strat (American), also a Les Paul. Many blues/rockers use the strat. It's easy to keep in tune, easy to play and has at least 5 tones. I even know one artist in Hawaii who plays a strat that he built and modified (he's an engineer) to have something like 70 tones! |
