No, he has the "too many notes" syndrome which is often mistaken for good Blues playing

Just what the world needs, another kid with a bunch of cliched blues riffs and none of the soul that comes from being an adult who has lived through hard times and loved and lost.

I gotta agree with Dinodino - who needs another wannabe? Did any of you actually take the time to listen to the licks? It is quite possible that this kid could have some talent, but it is talent of imitation, not innovation. This is as sick as what JonBenet Ramsey's parent made her do.

So what's next? Does he OD at the age of twelve?

I haven't really been impressed with any blues since WC Handy invented it on the piano, where I wished it had stayed.

I agree with the others answerers who understand what the blues is. I am UNDERWHELMED. The problem with this kid is the same problem with a lot of older (usually white) people who try to play the blues. Its much more involved than notes/scales/licks.

P.S. to the person who mentioned W.C. Handy. W.C. Handy DID NOT invent blues. And, since you clearly do not have an appreciation for the form, why are you on this forum?
