It's clearly none of them, it's a very good song I'd be glad to know who sing it I've seen and heard that song too..a bootleg from Johnny Winter's then manager Steve Paul's club 'The Scene' in NYC in about '68..I had a cassette of it a couple of years later..that track wasn't on it..it was mostly a drunk Morrison sounding like he was flailing about on the floor with Winter and Hendrix dribbling on.."Tomorrow Never Knows" was on it..and others too horrible to ascribe to such talents..one formatted version of that song even suggests Syd Barrett was on it..O Boy. I've seen bootlegs with it credited to Hendrix, Morrison and Joplin, another saying it was just Hendrix and Morrison drunk in a bar, and one saying it was just Morrison in his basement. Personally I think it was all three drunk in a bar. They all had pretty distinct voices and styles and you can hear them all on the tape. Keep in mind that back then rock acts performed a lot together and frequently hung out in the same places. Like licks in a Tootsie Pop, the world may never know..... jefferson airplane? |
