In 1965 he released his masterpiece, according to many. What was the record and the name? Between 1964 and 1966 he released three great albums, 'Vol 3 The Dance Of Death & Other Plantation Favorites', 'Guitar Vol. 4 (The Great San Bernardino Birthday Party and OExcursions)', and 'The Transfiguration of Blind Joe Death' (my personal favorite) which is the 1965 album I think you're looking for.
Songs like 'Orinda-Moraga' and 'Old Southern Medley' are still played in my home today. Timeless stuff!
'Yellow Princes' which came out in the later 60's is also worth checking out! I think Chunga has the answer you're looking for, but I think "Death Chants, Breakdowns, & Military Waltzes" is the masterpiece, followed by the original "Blind Joe Death" |
