In need of some suggestions?

I've been listening to the blues since I was a young kid, and it's one of my favorite genres of music, but I'm pretty limited in scope. Looking for some suggestions for artists based on this criteria:
-I prefer electric blues
-The grimier and more distorted the sound, the better
-I'm familiar with all of the true blues legends
-My favorite blues artists include Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Otis Rush, Johnny Copeland, Jimmy Dawkins

Check out Hounddog Taylor and the Houserockers.

Okay first go out and buy EAST WEST by the PAUL BUTTERFIELD BLUES BAND. (orig. from 1966 i think) Available on CD and its gritty as well. ALSO you MUST get anything you can possibly find by the ELECTRIC FLAG! They only did one or two albums and the guitarist for BOTH of these bands was Mike Bloomfield. If you dont know about Bloomfield...well..its okay. Nobody seems to know about REAL blues these days. But youve listed some EXCELLENT stuff-of course! I would also suggest the following:

ANY album/CD by MUDDY WATERS, HOWLIN WOLF, LIGHTNIN HOPKINS (although Lightnin wasnt always electric gritty) if you can find anything by PAT HARE thats a good "gritty" choice. (hard to find tho) also...JUNIOR WELLS is good but he was a harp (harmonica) player if youre into that. AND lets not forget FREDDIE KING and ALBERT KING. (please dont forget those fellahs!) ALBERT COLLINS also LITTLE WALTER (another harp player...HEAVY!!) anything form the Chess label I would suggest. LITTLE MILTON, JUNIOR PARKER ( who sang/played with Pat Hare) CHARLIE MUSSELWHITE (harp) and its 4 oclock in the morning and I cant thinnk of any other gritty heavy ones except my ABSOLUTE favorite and the best guitar palyer of all time-RORY GALLAGHER. He was also in a band called TASTE i the late 60's early 70's. YOU HAVE TO HEAR RORY! Besides the old original guys-nobodys better! Here are some of his songs:
* Tattoo'd Lady- (live version is wild)
* Bought and Sold
* A Million Miles Away
* Sinner Boy
* Hands Up
* or...just buy his live CD "Irish Tour 74"...and anything else you find by him! The TASTE stuff is crazy-good! They only did a few albums but its NOTHIING like youve ever heard before! Forget Clapton for a while...if u dare...and just get this stuff! E-bay usually has Rory Gallagher/Taste stuff. But ...yea...HES BETTER THAN CLAPTON> believe me! If i t hink of aything else-when im not so sleepy-Ill letcha know. Good luck.

Stacyxoxo has some very good suggestions but as for grim check out John Campbell "One believer" is a good example. I think that's what you're looking for. A great great blues man taken away by Cancer way too early.Just like S R V " heaven done called another blues stringer back home"

Try Scott H. Biram, he swings from sleazy distorted blues to country. I would recommend Graveyard Shift.

Go to fatpossum.com and read about some of the blues artists that have recorded on that label. RL Burnside and Junior Kimbrough are the 2 biggest names, but there is some great, gritty blues from T-Model Ford, Cedell Davis, Johnny Farmer, Paul "Wine" Jones, Robert Belfour, Kenny Brown, etc. available also. All of these guys are from Northern Mississippi and are as gritty as they come. If you've listened to Buddy Guy's "Sweet Tea" album, it has 5 or 6 Junior Kimbrough covers and was recorded in that region of Mississippi. Anyway, check out some of these guys and that should be a good start for you.

Try Albert King, if you've got him down you're ahead of most of us.

I'd really suggest Howlin' Wolf. Even more importantly, it sounds like you need to listen to Tom Waits, if you don't already. It sounds like he's just your style.

My suggestions are more harp-driven, but each of these have killer guitar players too.

You may enjoy the Red Devils. They made an album called "King King". You can find 3 videos of them on youtube.

Satan and Adam did some grimy stuff back in the day

Right now, I'm way into Jason Ricci and New Blood. "Half Blues, Half Rock, All Evil". They have new tracks on myspace.

I second the vote for Houndog Taylor and Howlin' Wolf.
