My husband wants to go. Just getting feedback to see if it's worth it. Let him go!!!!!
I am signed up, plane booked, and room at the Renaissance booked for three nights.
I have never been to a harmonica event. I've never wanted to go to a harmonica event (despite playing my whole life). I actually spoke to Jason a couple of times with concerns about attending harmonica events. That said, I NEEDED to go to this event.
OK, assuming your hubby can meet the prerequesites, here's a list of why this is worth attending.
1. Just go on youtube and watch jason's videos. Search "jasonricci". This guy is not only a young harmonica GOD, he is a fantastically nice, patient, and skilled teacher.
2. Jason doesn't believe in dogma the way many harp players do. He believes in music and creativity. He wants other harp players to develop better musical understanding so they can create more good music.
3. Chris Michalek. You may not have heard of him, but he's kind of a harp genius
4. This is a whole lot better than your husband going to New Orleans for the weekend with the boys to trade beads for boobs. It's a productive thing. It's going to be harp nerds being harp nerds.
I think you should write jason a note on youtube. Ask if you can call him, and he'll probably call you. He is high energy, but that kind of enthusiasm is infectious.
OK, this is too long for an answer. . .
let him go!!!! I'm "12gagedan" on youtube by the way.
p.s. I've met some players who went last time. They all had amazing experiences. |
