Why do people give Kenny Wayne Shepherd crap for.......? |
sounding like SRV when actually a lot of people sound like him. i.e. Joe Bonamassa, Henry Garza, Chris Duarte, Jesse Davey and so on....... That is a shame, that dude can play, I haven't heard a lot of Kenny's stuff, but I do know he is good. Yeah it's too bad you don't live around here, but we both play lead anyway, but it would be cool to jam with you some time. THANKS man I'll have to try it out. Report It that's the way it goes when one is dealin' with haters...personally, i love kenny wayne shepard's sound... Because when he first burst onto the scene, all the stories were out there as to how KWS sat backstage at some SRV shows as a boy.He also allowed his own people to put out the comparisons,it wasn't done by others. Then you have him playing gear like Stevie, right down to the very heavy gauge strings.Touring with Double Trouble doesn't help the rap on him ,either.Personally,I like Kenny and have seen him a few times(once with Double Trouble),but I think it won't be easy to get away from his own publicity. He's a very talented young man who should be able to find his way. nobody's going to sound like SRV... All of that SRV hype about KWS was due to Kenny's overbearing, controlling father. Kenny was 16 when he first came on the scene and had NO control over publicity. SRV was great but so is KWS in his own style, I think Kenny will lose that comparibility as he gets older. I'd be thrilled to be compared to SRV, it's a compliment! |
