Do u like metal or blues guitar?

for people 15 and up...

which should i play at a talent show with mostly 14 year olds, (i'm in middle school)
most of them like metal, but i'm alsso pretty good at blues solos

I like both at the same time, ala Led Zeppelin.

Metal. Blues is good too, but a good metal solo really gets the heart pumping.

both. Probably blues more though.

metal...

BLUES.

Blues.

Blues, the root of all electric guitar.

Blues,may I reccomend Matt"Guitar"Murphy`s cds?

For Blues I like

Robert Johnson
Stevie Ray Vaughn
JJ Cale
B.B. King
Albert King
Gary Moore

For Metal I like
Steve Vai (cuz he played with Frank Zappa)
Joe Satriani
Kirk Hammett
Kk Downing

I guess it depends what Im in the mood for, love em both equal there is a certain passion metal guys play with and a certain feeling blues guys play. If I were to go to a venue I would choose blues.....what can I say Im from Chicago.....love koko seen her many times

If 14 year olds are the judges then you should go with the metal. If you are competing against 14 year olds with adult judges then go with the blues. If neither of these scenarios is true( like being judged by the audience ) then just go with what you do the best. good luck!

In music - less is more.

Except in metal - more is more.

I prefer blues - more soul, more emotion.

Do your blues thing man! That will give them something new (to them..) to possibly get into. Besides , if they're 15 and up , they'll only relate to newer metal, which is limited to downtuning to C and playing "chug" type death metal crap...

Start with Blues and then morph into metal. Kind of like a Hooker riff and then go into an Angus Young version of the same riff. "Let there be Rock"

play some metal then modulate towards some blues then back to metal kinda like Paul Gilbert

you can make a hybrid of both, something that will be new to their ears.

both

incorparate both of them in the session.

depends man, do you have access to any backing tracks?? I know your school probably has a p.a. system in their auditorium. If you were to find a good backing track (a backing track is the music just with no lead guitar put in the mix) that you can jam along with you could come up with something that starts out bluesy and switches over to more of a metal feel. Thus appealing to a wider audience of people. We do this with a lot of songs when we play live. But personally i would play some funk.

Both are great but for that age group I would say Metal, Blues takes a little more time to fully appreciate.
