ive been lookin for zeppelin roots and robert johnso seemed the logical place to start but i quickly ran into a problem i have no money to use on itunes and i cant find any any other way help plz no limewire or stuff plz thanks in advance Just go to places like Half Price Book Store to find old records, tapes and CD's. Don't forget Elmore James as well. Gatemouth Brown is still around. bittorent is your friend! try the pirate bay (thepiratebay.org). I have a 4-CD set called "the blues roots of Led Zeppelin." Sorry, we lost Gatemouth Brown recently but his recordings are still around. Albert Collins too, Gate's old partner in the 1950s. And while your at it check out: If you can't buy'' Robert Johnson the Complete Recordings'' then try your local library. You may also find some books about him and or Led Zep. Good luck to ya! Hang out with other guys that have access to these recordings, or listen to the blues and blues-rock stations on internet radio. Also be sure to just check out your library as a resource and see what you can come up with there. Its a good place to start. eric clapton made a documentary of mr johnson's life and music ,shown on sky arts channel. was very good . try and catch it worth the trouble...... shortest blues song "i didn't wake up this morning" you can go to youtube.com and type in robert johnson a few songs/vids will pop up. There is a little old cartoon about one of robert johnson's songs on there w/ him playing over it. I picked up a Robert Johnson collection at Wal-Mart. Also available on Amazon.com. Go to the library and look it up. They will help you if need be. By the way, did you know that Terry Reid was originally chosen as lead singer for Led Zeppelin? |
