anybody willing to tell me the differences of each music stated above? (e.g. the differences between acid jazz, smooth jazz, soul jazz, etc.) also with the differences in blues and soul genre as there are quite many types of blues and soul too, isn't it? Would be a LONG post indeed ... and not even close to helping you til you listen to good amount of these forms of music.

And Soul is for you ... um ... soul! Jazz developed in turn-of-the-century New Orleans from the confluence of multiple music traditions. The new style incorporated blue notes, call and response, syncopation, polyrhythms and improvisation.
Blues is a vocal and instrumental form of music based on the use of the blue notes and a repetitive pattern that most often follows a twelve-bar structure. It emerged in African-American communities of the United States from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed English and Scots-Irish narrative ballads. The use of blue notes and the prominence of call-and-response patterns in the music and lyrics are indicative of African influence. The blues influenced later American and Western popular music, as it became part of the genres of jazz, bluegrass, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, hip-hop, and pop songs.
Soul music is a music genre that combines rhythm and blues and gospel music, originating in the United States. According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, soul is "music that arose out of the black experience in America through the transmutation of gospel and rhythm & blues into a form of funky, secular testifying for me, Jazz is uh..."Easy Listening" music. (check out miles Davis and John Coltrane).
