Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, and my personal favorite Stevie Ray Vaughan. There are a lot of good blues musicians out there. Try these and see what you think.

listen to anything by Muddy Waters BB, King or Leadbelly

crawling king snake: John Lee Hooker
Taildragger: Howlin Wolf
Little red rooster: Willie Dixon

There are many blues artist out there and your choices can range from older classic blues from Robert Johnson and Etta James up to the more current artist such as Big Sugar, Blues Traveller and John Mayer.

Some of my favorites are the Stevie Ray Vaughn albumns and Eric Clapton. Clapton does an electric slide version of Robert Johnson's "If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day" and this is one of my favorite songs and versions.

Check out the Eric Clapton concert series on DVD called "Crossroads".

I wasa going to answer but CONCOBO my god he/she is superb!
Take a look at his/ her titles you cannot go wrong!

All the names mentioned be the others are great, some of them I will have to look up! Another great to just came to mind who I just saw last month near Toronto is Buddy Guy, one of Jimi Hendrix's big influences in fact. Yup he's still kickin! Also, Los Lobos is one that doesn't come to many peoples minds too quick, I think because their style is so diverse. that's why make sure you try a few of their songs, don't judge from one. One song might be mariachi, such as the song they did with Antonio Banderas in the movie "Desperado" then you'll probably run into "Labamba" which they did for the hit movie years ago. But they do a lot of blues, and it has a kinda L-a Mexican feel to it.
