Who is the most amazing Blues guitar player of all time?

Who is the most amazing Blues guitar player of all time?

I'll stick with Robert Johnson

Check out interviews with any great guitarist in which his name is mentioned and you'll all hear them confirm one thing.

I can't play like that.

At some moments it sounds like their are 2 or even 3 guitars playing. A friend of mine once tried to analyse some of the guitar work and found that to play some of it he had to either be playing with his hands turned round or his arms crossed. his play is freakingly good that's all I can say

bb king

BB King. Clapton comes in a close second.

Definitely B. B. King.

Eric Clapton is number two.

Stevie Ray Vaughn comes in third.

I'd say Robert Johnson. As for up and coming blues guitarists, I'd suggest checking out the guitarist in Clutch!

THE KING (BB that is).

gotta be Buddy Guy

BB King but Joe Bonnamassa is coming along for a young guy.

Buddy Guy....followed closely by
Freddie King and Magic Sam.

I am torn between Blind Blake and Lonnie Johnson.

Two VERY different styles, but these cats could blow away all those others mentioned way back in the 1920's

Stevie Ray Vaughn...
amazing...

Joe Bonamassa...
awesome...

robert cray

BB King

T Bone Walker

Buddy Guy

Guitar Slim

Robert Johnson

Elmore James

Albert Collins

All influenced in different ways. The other names mentioned above me came later, copping the styles of others.

Of all time? have to be Robert Johnson all blues legends have covered at least one of his songs. Recent history B.B., Freddie, Clapton, Stevie Ray, Elmore James, Muddy Waters,John Lee Hooker, Guitar Slim, hard to pin that one down.

Depends what you personally like, but I always thought Roy Buchanon was amazing and also Johnny Winter. Of course there are a hundred more great ones such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, the three Kings, Robben Ford, and more.

Here's a sentimental vote for BB, but as an active (schooled) musician, I'm convinced that Stevie Ray Vaughn is/was a far better technician, and therefore, may be the more "amazing" player.

There's really no right or wrong answer to this question. It, like music itself, is entirely a matter of opinion/taste.

It's definitely Buddy Guy. I've seen him twice with B.B. King and Buddy Guy blew King off the stage. Someone else I thought was great was Lightnin' Hopkins. Roy Buchanan and Rory Gallagher are quite impressive too.

The one and only " Mr BB King"

After hearing Joe Bonamassa play again last night, I'd give him a nomination - he was fantastic.

BB King. He is the master. He knows that most of the time what you don't play is as important as what you do play.

Stevie Ray Vaughan

albert king,b.b.king, and of course s.r.v.

ALBERT King....he could smoke BB, Clapton, SRV, or anyone else you can name... BB King may be more well known, but Albert is the greatest...people please check him out....

Clapton and SRV copped his stuff note for note,

1. B.B King
2. Stevie Ray Vaughan
3. Eric Clapton

Lead Belly
Chuck berry
Sonny Boy Williams

Buddy Guy is one of my favorites. Peter Green before he went crazy. He is my favorite Mayall guitarist. He also established Fleetwood Mac as an outstanding blues band. Albert Collins. Early Muddy Waters. Earl Hooker. There are so many.

Why that's Stevie Ray Vaughn of course!!!!

Eric Clapton #2? NO way! Facts are facts Stevie is best, then BB King.............hands down!
