Which Blues-Rocker is the best?

Albert King - Albert King
Angus Young - AC/DC
B.B. King -B.B. King
Bruce Springsteen - Bruce Springsteen
Duane Allman - Duane Allman
Elton John - Elton John
Eric Clapton - Eric Clapton
Janis Joplin - Janis Joplin
Jimi Hendrix - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Slash - Guns N Roses/Velvet Revolver
Stevie Ray Vaughn - Stevie Ray Vaughn
Tony Iomi - Black Sabbath

Of those ~ Jimi Hendrix

But you left off my personal choice :~

Led Zeppelin

Stevie Ray

Taj Mahal is by far better than anybody on your list. Check him out!!!

You forgot Jimmy Lee Williams.

there is only one anwser Chuck Berry

Kind of a stretch on a few of these dudes...and I'm very sad that you didn't include Freddie King!

My top three (tie):
B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton.

Duane Allman is a very close contender...his slide is unsurpassed.

Also . . .

Derek Trucks
Chris Whitley
Jonny Lang
Kenny Neal
Sonny Landreth
Buddy Guy
Albert Collins . . .

The list goes on forever . . .

blues - Stevie Ray Vaughn or BB king
also like John Lee Hooker and Johnny Winter

Slash has me transfixed with anything he plays though
ChaliQ - thats why Slash wasn't on my blues list, its a girl thing, drool factor ;)

None of the above- it's Gary Moore.

I'm partial to Stevie Ray & Eric Clapton

I would go with Tony Iomi , Because he had some of his finger tips cut off in a work accident and he still pushed on , and worked with his disability . I my opinion hes better than most of the greats who have all their finger tips

Your list is good but i want you to go to the library and get a cd of Bernard Allison. If you like the above list you will also like BA.

But out of the list Stevie Ray Vaughn ourshines all of them. His guitar technique has no peer.

There are some on the list i would remove like elton john bruce springsteen janis joplin because blues is not their main thing and replace them with albert collins, jack mcduff, maybe miles davis.

i look at bb king more as a singer/personality rather than a musician.

good luck

My God man, where the hell is Johnnie Winters? That sucker has got to be the best blues rocker of all time. He also plays nice slow blues but nobody can hold a candle to his rockin blues. However there are a few who can beat him out with slow blues riffs.
OzDonna you had it goin till you said Slash. Good guitar not blues.

Clapton is god!

Stevie Ray Vaughn

What about Tracy Conover, Ana Popovic, Deborah Coleman, Debbie Davies, Cathy Jean, Lou Ann Barton, all knock your think in the dirt!!!!!

There are so many to mention, but my top blues-rocker has always been the late Rory Gallagher. He never got the recognition he deserved. In the early days he was looked down upon by his contemporaries like E.C., but went on to prove that he could blow them all off the stage!
Bless you Rory.

jimi hendrix or janis joplin or black sabbath

but i agree led zeppelin is best even though you left them out

listen to joe bonamassa. he is amazing. and gary moore has an amazing talent for making an old blues song his own.

I say Gary Moore too

I am going with "chilling . . ." right now on the Taj Majal!

My choice out of your list is the one and only Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I'm going to have to add a little Jethro Tull

I guess none of these rookies have ever heard Albert King or even heard of him...sad . He is the master of all. SVR and Clapton got their $#I# from Albert...and would smoke anyone on that list in his prime(and every other person mentioned in the answers). Check out the links.

PS Where's Jeff Beck? He should be in the top five.

Joe Bonamassa, and others like him. He's a great player.

BB KING , ERIC CLAPTON, STEVIE RAY VAUGHN
AND THEY ALL WERE INSPIRED BY ALBERT JOHNSON & MUDDY WATERS TO NAME A FEW

I'd say Jimi and Eric (Duane coming a distant third)

Janis, Slash and Tony Iomi have a few good bluesy songs

Albert King, SRV and B. B. are blues players not rockers

Angus is a different animal altogether. I don't know where I'd put him, but definitely not blues

The Boss is not blues

Elton John? Are you f**king kidding me?

since when do you count Albert and BB King as Blues-Rocker?
thats Blues pure!
the one and only POPA CHUBBY is my favorite

Of the ones you mentioned SRV but you managed to neglect the greatest ever JIMMY FREAKIN PAGE!

today= Popa Chubby, Joe Bonamassa, Paul Mark (Van Dorens), Tony Vega
Bo Diddley

Gary Moore and blues don't go together!
he's a hardrocker and always will be

i think the best ones are: clapton, B.B. King, Hendrix, SRV, Duane allman, springsteen, albert king, and here are some other good ones.

the black crowes (rich robinson)
govt mule (warren haynes)
the rolling stones (keith richards)
aerosmith (joe perry)
Freddie king
Rick Nielsen (cheap trick)
David Gilmour (pink floyd)
Muddy waters
Jimmy page (led zeppelin)
Jimmie Vaughan
Santana
billy gibbons (zz top)
pete townshend (the who)
Tom petty and the heartreakers
Richie Sambora (bon jovi)
Buddy Guy
ETC., ETC,

I did not see these gentleman on your list:
Keb' Mo'
Freddie King
John Lee Hooker
Blue House with the Rent To Own Horns
they have my vote

eric clapton, gary moore, b.b. king.
