Reccommend me some good blues songs...?

I prefer the upbeat and fast blues songs, but any kind will be fine.

Howlin' Wolf - Smokestack Lighting. Gets me every time!

Sweet Home Chicago, Send me to Electric chair, Sharon all by Dave Bromberg Band (he plays several types of music, so if you don't find him in "Blues" section, look in "Folk Music")

I Pity the Fool by Bobby Blue Bland

Leap of Faith by Delbert McClinton

Brickyard Blues by Maria Muldauer

Steamroller by James Taylor

Blender Blues, sung by Bonnie Raitt, written by Chris Smither
Woman be wise, sung by Bonnie Raitt, written by Sippie Wallace.

T-Bone Walker. Good smooth stuff.
Louis Jordan
Cab Calloway
Roosevelt Sykes

Anything by Buddy Guy is good. He does some faster upbeat stuff and some slow stuff. Walter Trout is a guy to look out for if you want mostly that fast rock and roll blues type stuff. These are just a couple that I know. Go to a Border's store and you can always sample some of the music before you buy.

Crossfire-Stevie Ray Vaughan
Tumbleweed-Coco Montoya
Can't See For Lookin'-Smokin' Joe Kubek

ZZtop Sharp dressed man
AC/DC Please don't go
Travis Trit, TROUBLE
Chuck Berry , JONNY B GOOD
and anything done by Lead Zeppelin

I'll give you two:

"Icepick's Confession", the James Harman Band
"I Don't Want You To Be My Girl", Seigel-Schwall Band.

As the saying goes: made loud to be played loud.

Statesboro Blues, You Don't Love Me, One Way Out -- Allman Brothers

Cross Cut Saw -- Albert King

Crossroads -- Cream

Mannish Boy -- Muddy Waters

Tore Down, Goin' Down -- Freddy King

"I don't want no kickin' in my stall" by Bobby "Blue" Bland.

What Kind Of Woman Is This by Buddy Guy, Take Five by Hound Dog Taylor, Ice Cream Man by John Brim, Snatch It Back And Hold It by Junior Wells, You're The One by Memphis Slim with a scorching guitar solo by Buddy Guy, Evan's Shuffle by Muddy Waters with fantastic harmonica by Little Walter, All Your Love ( I Miss Loving ) by Otis Rush, One Way Out by Sonny Boy Williamson with Buddy Guy on guitar, Preachin' The Blues by Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac.

When it comes to fast blues... Stevie Ray Vaughan is the god. Im pretty sure you will like annything by him.

Easier to recommend bad ones there ain't as many.Listen to as much as you can and you'll feel the ones that are good better to find them yourself then you get the hit.....sgd

Check out Joe Bonnamassa - not sure of the spelling, but that is close. He is a phenomenal blues guitarist. I have a couple of CDs & one DVD entitled "Joe Bonnamassa Live at the Rockpalast", which is a blues bar in Germany. It is absolutely amazing!

Here we go, lets start with up-tempo.

Am I Wrong - Keb' Mo
Gotta Move - Lightin' Hopkins
Wang Dang Doodle - Howlin' Wolf
Boogie Chillen' - John Lee Hooker
Hot Time In The Ol' Town - Mississippi John Hurt
A Man Of Many Words - Buddy Guy
If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day - Robert Johnson
Alabama Bound - Leadbelly

Here are some great slower tempos

I Put A Spell On You - Screamin' Jay Hawkins
Forty Days & Forty Nights - Muddy Waters
Good Mornin' Little Schoolgirl - Junior Wells
Im A Man - Bo Diddley

As with most blues tunes, many artist have versions of the same songs. You might like ones version over the other. Kind of in the traditional music...well tradition. Enjoy!

There's a guy from Houma, Louisiana Tab Benoit. {ben wah}
My favorites cd's of his are Fever for the Bayou and these blues are all mine.

heres 5 amazing blues songs in order

-nobodies dirty buisness by mississippi john hurt
-lightnin stomp by lightnin hopkins (if you want lyrics listen to lightnin boogie its the same but it has words)
-boom boom by john lee hooker
-corrina corrina by muddy waters
-yonders wall by pinetops perkins

check out the album Journeyman by Clapton

Bullfrog Blues from Rory Gallagher's Live in Europe album. A** kickin' electric blues!

I really like a song named Stop Breakin Down Blues preformed by Eric Clapton on the Me and Mr. Johnson CD. Also Traveling Riverside Blues by Led Zepplin. I believe both of these songs were written by Robert Johnson a long time ago. The suggestions made by others that have answered your ? have been real good. I especially like Blender Blues by Bonnie Raitt and I'm not sure if Love Me Like a Man was suggested or not, but it's real uptempo. Walter Trout is another artist that you should listen to, he is contemporary and has some GREAT music- too many to even list. Do try Kill the Monkey and Who's Listening In I think that's the correct name, some more great tunes would be anything off of the EC was Here album by Eric Clapton, Key to the Highway and also Drifting Blues. Stevie Ray Vaughn and Texas Flood, Look at Little Sister and Things That I used to Do just to start. It's a short list for sure, but these examples of the blues will give you a good start. I'm sure glad that blues has become more popular in the last little while. It;s made exploring new music easier and much more productive. When I started listening it was almost impossible to discover new music with out some one to guide you, and where I live I'm the only blues fan around. Enjoy!
