What is the best song from Stevie Ray Vaughan?

What is the best song from Stevie Ray Vaughan?

For me that would be "Voodoo Chile."I was fortunate enough to see Stevie at the Pacific Coliseum(where I've worked for 20 years) in Vancouver,in July of 1990.Because I worked there,I was lucky enough to work backstage.I remember Joe Cocker opened for Stevie Ray on that last tour.I remember the last song,or encore,Stevie played was "Voodoo Chile."Bass player T.M.Stevens(of then Joe Cocker band)came out and jammed on that song for close to 30 minutes.Jimi Hendrix is the one rock musician I never saw. That night Stevie played his *** off, just like tapes I've heard of Hendrix.Less than a month later,Stevie was gone after the helicopter he was in,crashed. That fond memory of Stevie playing that gig(17 years ago)is permanently tattoed in my head.

My favorites are "Crossfire" and "Couldn't Stand the Weather".

"Texas Flood", live at the El Mocambo.

Watch all the way to the end - there's a nice little surprise. You'll rarely see this much passion and intensity from a guitarist.

Other great SRV tracks:

"The House Is Rocking"
"Life By The Drop"
"Pride & Joy"
"Wham!" (there's a live version with Jeff Beck)
"Rude Mood"
"Couldn't Stand The Weather"
"Little Wing" (great Hendrix cover)
"Chitlins Con Carne" (the jazzier side of SRV)
"Love Struck Baby" (good-natured fun)

personally i like most of SRV and double troubles music but i guess one favourite would have to be..life by the drop, purely because its a simple straight forward song based on a simple 12 bar blues, nice guitar sound, and good lyrics
but i also like little wing

Pride and Joy

mary has a little lamb or lenny

I'll go with "Riviera Paradise". The last tune on the last album with Double Trouble (with keyboards) and an instrumental entirely written by SRV. It looked like Stevie was turning a corner in his music.

I think Rivera Paradise as well Life by the Drop.

I like "life by the drop" "empty arms" "little wing" and "chitlins con carne" and "let me love you Baby" but
Riviera Paradise is my favorite here he shows us how good he is and that for the future he would changed to little more jazzy tunes. Excellent song among all the other very good songs I like this one because its also more than 9 minutes.
I also like the songs he does together with Albert King on In Session with...like Stormy Monday and Matchbox Blues...

I don't know about the best, but my favorite is "Pride and Joy."

When he covered Little Wing... Stops your heart.

TEXAS FLOOD!!!!! ITS LIKE LIQUID HEAVEN

Too many to list,he quite simply was the best!.

The house is rockin'

tightrope

I like "Lenny" and his cover of "Things that I used to do"

Actually it's a duet with Lonnie Mack on Lonnie's album from '85 called "Double Whammy". on the album that itself is called "Strike like Lightning".. w/ lonnie and stevie also doing another one of Lonnie's tunes called "Oreo Blues"... (Killer Duet Team"), to say the least..
Have you heard that record??

SF&Bay@theMoon!

I prefer his slow blues songs like Little Wing and Texas Flood.
