Kudos to The Blues Brothers for reminding white people - it's way cool, man...!

i'm hooked for life. I like muddy waters, blind willie mctell, and robert johnson too.

me too just love those blues....

"Hard to snap?"

And of course, why would you want to ;)

yes damn right, these blues grates came frist and influenced today's best music. just look into it and see

Can't get enough of Sonny Boy #2. He was a rascal. Did a better job on Bring It On Home than Led Zep. Great Willie Dixon song. One Way Out with Buddy Guy on lead. Better than the Allman Brothers. He was great.

Oh Yeah
But for Me it's
Elmore James
Robert Johnson
Albert King
B.B. King
&
Son Seals

There are some good modern guys you should check out

Howard and the White Boys
LA Jones and the Blues Messengers
Zora Young
Aynsley Lister
Slow Blow Fuse
Johnny Lang
Corey Harris

to name a few...

Yes, yes, yes, and yes.

I've gotten "hooked" on everything from individual musicians, to styles (delta, piedmont, etc), to instruments (harp, piano, etc.) Its not confined to blues either. I just mentioned on the country forum that I listened almost exclusively to honky tonk (Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, et al) for close to a year.

For me its not a case of snapping out of it, its more like a many-layered onion. One thing always leads to another. I could live ten lifetimes and still be discovering and learning about American music.

Muddy Waters... T. Bone Walker...Blind Lemon Jefferson..
Big Billy Bronzy...

That's a positive addiction- who'd want to lose that?

Bring it on.

You'd better believe it! Howlin' Wolf is one of my favorites. I could listen to him all day. I love that gravely voice. I can hear him singing now -- "She's hot like red pepper; lips like cherry wine ....."

I've been an addict since I heard slide guitar creeping up the stairs of a cellar bar when I was fifteen! Elmore James taught me the licks, I wore out that album! Been in bands since then, never made any real money but what good times I've had.

Howlin' Wolf is king!

Who?

Are they related to president Lincoln?

Same Era?
