What are the recordings of Matt "Guitar" Murphy's older 60s recordings? What records does he play on? Matt "Guitar" Murphy recorded very little in the 1950s. He began to record more when he joined the House Rockers
(Memphis Slim's band). They recorded for the United Artists and Vee-Jay Labels (check out www.vee-jay.net If you click music on the main page and then the blues genre you'll be able to listen to all of Vee-Jays recordings. )He and Memphis Slim recorded a live album, at Antone's in Texas, called "Together Again One More Time." A couple of years later he recorded another live album at Antone's, with James Cotton, called "James Cotton Live At Antone's Nightclub."
He recorded his first album "Way Down South." in 1990.
