Have you ever eaten at the restaurant of a famous chef?

was their food really worth the extortionate price they charge?

even if I could afford to pay their prices I would begrudge paying out. I'm much happier with a kebab from the takeaway!

We went to Cornwall on honeymoon, had a look at Rick Steins in Padstow, and couldnt afford to go in!

I went to that Little Chef's restaurant. The podgy little b@stard charges way too much and the food was terrible!!

Yes, with work. Ridiculously overpriced, far too rich and not worth it. Plus, celebrity chef restaurants tend to be full over pretentious gits that like flashing their cash on cigars and crap like that. Better off with fish n chips.

I remember reading somewhere that Gordon Ramsey charged 拢100 for pizza because it had truffle oil on it. Anyone who pays that sort of price needs their head examining

Fine dining should be an experience, not a meal. If all your interested in is the taste of the food, save your money and buy their cookbook.
The fine dining experience should include;
A comfortable atmosphere
Outstanding service
Good food served at the proper temperature
If you want all these things, be prepared to pay.

No but I have read menus of various famous chefs and their offerings don't sound appetizing at all. Also, the more expensive and formal you get, the tinier the servings, which is a ripoff.

However I would love to visit Emeril and Paula Deen's restaurants sometime since they're known for home cooking which is a rarity these days.
