No. This was on Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel. On another show, they discussed the same topic. They had an interview with the actress who played the chick who was painted gold. She thought it was funny that the rumors are still going on that she died, though she obviously hadn't. That was her most famous role in a movie...which I suppose helped keep the rumor going since she basically was never seen again.
