Why is she called QUEEN latifah?

She was the queen of Hip-Hop at her time. that is why she is called queen latifah.

She was the queen of hip-hop at her time and everyone called her the queen of hip-hop.

Her cousin gave her the name Latifah, its Arabic meaning "pleasant, gentle"; black women often refer 2 themselves as queens.

It's a stage name, she just calls herself that.

its her stage name...if im not wrng... but bit too much for a stage name.. same like MJ cald himself king of pop..

now both are out of music industry and both queen and king in their homes..
