Vanessa Carlton Question?

Her song "Annie" is amazing. Does anyone know who she wrote it for? Like was it her niece or something?

no I heard that she wrote it for a kid who had cancer or something like that and she was inspired by how brave she was and so she wrote her a song (( I'm not sure what disease the kid has ))
