Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11th 1942 in Allahabad, India to the famous legendry poet-n-writer Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mom Teji Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan鈥檚 real name is Amit Srivastav and is a Libran by birth. Amitabh鈥檚 dad used Bachchan as his pen name and later it was passed on to his son in heritage. Amitabh Bachchan has pursued his academics in Allahabad鈥檚 High School and later moved to Nainital to join Sherwood College and achieved his degree in art however; he continued his scholarly journey by graduating with a degree in science from Kirori Mal College in Delhi. Amitabh Bachchan after completing his studies, found a job in Kolkata in a shipping company. Later Amitabh quit his job and came to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He became a radio announcer and his Bollywood debut movie was 鈥楽aat Hindustani鈥?that was a debacle at the box office. After struggling for five years, Amitabh got his first superhit 鈥榋anjeer鈥? Amitabh Bachchan started dating actress Jaya Bahaduri. After his nerve wrecking performance in 鈥楧eewar鈥?in 1975, Amitabh was tagged with his new image of the angry young man. The actor got married to Jaya when his career was at it鈥檚 peak. The couple has acted in many movies like 鈥楢bhimaan鈥? 鈥楽holay鈥? 鈥楽ilsila鈥?and 鈥楰abhi Khushi Kabhi Gham鈥? Amitabh鈥檚 romance with actress Rekha was the cause of the rift between Amitabh and Jaya however; the romantic fling didn鈥檛 last long. In 1984, Amitabh took a break from Bollywood and joined Congress Party on persuasion from Political Leader Rajiv Gandhi however; his political calling didn鈥檛 last long as he got involved in Bofors Scam and had to quit politics. This incident also led to bitter relations between the Gandhi鈥檚 and the Bachchan鈥檚.
After failure in politics, the actor made his comeback in Bollywood but couldn鈥檛 recreate the same magic. After a series of flops, he finally tasted success with 鈥楢gneepath鈥?and 鈥楬um鈥? Amitabh Bachchan launched his company ABCL-Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited in the early 1990鈥檚 and hosted Miss World in India. The actor also ventured into production as he produced his first venture 鈥楾ere Mere Sapne鈥?which was a hit. Consecutive three movies however; failed which led ABCL to bankruptcy. The new millennium however; changed thing for Amitabh Bachchan, who was famous as 鈥楤ig B鈥?by then. His TV show 鈥楰aun Banega Crorepati鈥?broke all TRP records and movie 鈥楳ohaabtien鈥?was a big hit thus, proving that fans loved the matured Bachchan. Since then Big B has been the busiest star in Bollywood. The actor worked day and night to pay off the ABCL debts. Amitabh Bachchan endorses some of the biggest brands Dabur, Cadbury, ICICI bank, Maruti Versa, Reliance Infocomm, Parker Pens and Reid and Taylor Suits. The actor is also a goodwill ambassador to UNICEF as well as a brand ambassador for IIFA which is India鈥檚 first International Bollywood awards. Amitabh Bachchan is only Indian actor to find a place in the prestigious Madam Tussuads wax museum in London. I met him at Genting Highland Resorts in Malaysia while he was there attending the IIFA Awards five years ago.
It took place in an elevator to the casino. He was with his bodyguard at the time when I jumped next to him and asked for his autograph. He glanced at me and continued looking straight up at the cctv camera of the elevator. I asked him again (politely) if I could have his autograph. Suddenly, he turned around swiftly like a Hindustan hero and shouted, "you, shuttup, get yourr face away frrom mee!" When the elevator door swung open, he dashed out quickly and showed me the 'up yours' finger from his back. I was stunned, his bodyguard pushed me aside and stood outside of the elevator like I'm gonna run after his boss.
I had spoken to many of the hotel staffs during my two days stay there and many of them said that they were not amused of his behaviour. Some even made jokes about him like he has lost touch of reality and had gone to the other realm where everything is nice like all of the heavenly looking gardens he had danced on, from one-tree-to-the other with his arms spreading, singing a happy Hindi song.
I had met some famous Hollywood stars like Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, Bill Paxton and Orlando Bloom (most recently) and they were soooOOOooo friendly and warm unlike this bastard from Mumbai!
