What are song good Classical pieces for massage? |
I'm opening up a massage practice. I'm trying to make a few mix CDs of a few different types of relaxing musics. I'm currently doing Classical, in the collection I have Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Beethoven, Johannsson can you guys recommend a few others? I would stick with solo instrumentals ; Piano ....anything by Chopin or Liszt.. Classical guitar is very relaxing.....anything by Fernando Sor. The "Flower Duet" from Delibes' opera Lakm茅 Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber Use composers from the Romantic Era (some have already been listed, Chopin's nocturnes and Listz for example). Wikipedia has a rather lengthy list, but you'll have lots to choose from. I wouldn't use anything that is too famous. Now don't get me wrong...I LOVE the music that has been suggested...but I'm not sure that it would be the best choice, only because some of it may be distracting (due the complexity of classical music)...people may tend to want to listen to it!...instead of just relaxing....I guess you could experiment though or give people choices as to what they would want to listen to (I don't know if that's appropriate etiquette at a massage place, is it? i have no clue) But anyway...at many spas I know they usually play a lot of New-age type of music - often something has a japanese/other asian feel and something that would be more simple or hypnotic. Like I said...classical might be too melodious and complex....but maybe that's just me! I know I would tend to listen to it rather than totally submit to relaxation! :P |
