Definitely check out eBay. I got a great deal on an acoustic/electric 5 string violin in black. Very happy with it. They have traditional available as well, but the biggest variety in shapes/colors are in the acoustic/electric combos.

You should be able to get a pink acoustic violin for about $180 dollars. Lots of companies make them now.
An electric violin would cost about $300 for the cheaper models.
