Whats the average cost of piano lessons?

I live in the North East of England.

Not including competitions entry fees, mine charges $100 a month.

This would have to depend on where you go , what country etc.

Its a bit hard to go suggesting average prices on the Internet, because of the wide range of possibilities.

Also check the qualifications of the instructor, the cheapest may not always be the best, and same deal with the most expensive.

Check yellow pages.Phone four tutors and ask price, divide by four.

Edit:Wouldn't hurt to get a recommendation for a few first as some are definitely better than others.You don't always get what you pay for,quality wise.

I charge $50/hour with most students taking half hour lessons.

Every music lesson I ever took before college was $15/half and hour. That seems to be the standard for any instrument. I've done guitar, piano, and voice, each with multiple teachers, and it was always $15 for a half hour lesson.
