You should look at your notes from class and your text book if you have one. The teacher has probably given you all of the info you need...if you payed attention...

What is an oratorio?
What is opera seria?
What is a French overture?
What is a countertenor?
What is a castrato?
Who was Farinelli?
What is an exit aria?
What is a concerto grosso?

Go and read the article on him at wikipedia. Then you'll have all you need.

here online there is a free encyclopedia...it has good basic information about all sorts of subjects - be sure to check it whenever you need quick info -

for your subject
George Frideric Handel - Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.com/Handel

FYI
I would know
* his full name (note the unusual spelling of his middle name)
* his birth & death dates
* where he was born & died
* where he lived
* family
* what instruments he played
* where he studied / his mentors
* the scope of his compositions
* and check out the little gray box on the left side of the article part way down (Contents) ....to see how the authors listed important points

all the best

One important thing to know is why Handel switched from writing operas to oratorios (I'm not telling you the answer)!

Handel lived and worked in many different areas of Europe. How did he write differently for each country and why?

Go to class next time.
