How will you rate this piano ragtime piece?

This rather short rag is pretty simple, and does not display lot of variety. The little 16th note section seems out of character and , to me, disrupts the flow of the music. However, for its intended purpose, it is somewhat more engaging and interesting than a lot of other game music. I would probably give it a 4, perhaps a 5.

In terms of what? How much I like it? How musical it is? How hard it is to play?

I don't like it because it's musically incredibly boring - so I'd give it 1 or 2 out of 10. Ragtime has to be written well because it's such a constraining musical style. This ragtime is unsophisticated and written with very little understanding of the style.

However, it's still reasonably challenging to play, especially the sextuplet semiquaver/16th note section.

If you want something in this style then you need look no further than Scott Joplin, he was the master of ragtime, and his pieces are much better formed and don't just grind on and on like this one does. The Entertainer and Maple Leaf Rag are very very famous; I have absolutely no desire to hear this piece again.

Yeah man, this piece is a PALE imitation of the great Scot Joplin.

I would give a listen to some of his stuff.

i'd give it a 4. it's a little schmaltzy, the transitioning is poor, the melodies don't seem to interrelate, and tho i didn't count it out, i don't think it followed the classical format of 16 bars with repeats.
