Good luck!!! :}) - El Chupacabra - First, I want to say good luck auditioning for the LIFC competition. You have chosen a beautiful piece to play. It is difficult to judge if you "have a chance" having never heard you play.
This is something to discuss with your private teacher. If you don't have a private teacher, I highly recommend studying with one for the few weeks left before the competition. He/she should honestly evaluate your performance and tell you where you stand. Also, get feedback from your music teachers at school. Everyone will hear something a little different.
Another option is to use the program SmartMusic. It plays the accompaniment for you and you can record yourself. You can also use the practice loop feature for difficult passages. Record yourself and honestly evaluate your own performance like you would if you were a NYSSMA or All-State judge. You could even ask your band teacher for copies of blank forms. Listen to each recording as if it is not you playing. It allows you to be more objective.
The more you play in front of an audience, the easier any audition/performance will become. Go for it, at the absolute least you will gain the experience.
