A lot of people might like it, he certainly sounds good, so he might do a lot of people a favor.
He lacks however education as a singer, so it might be very hard for him to start a career as a professional (opera)singer.
This requires learning complete opera's in a relative short amount of time. Not only the big highlights.
The great thing however is the fact that he acts like a kind of "ordinary peoples hero" He shares music they might otherwise hardly know and acts as a kind of example.
So is it good. Yes, but there are better ones. But he, how long does a professional artist have to study before he reaches his top and can make a living of singing? It's hardly a fair comparison.
So, enjoy his singing and if you want more listen to other great singers. in an age of classical/pop crossover it's rare that the guy can actually sing.
he's got a natural voice and he has talent,fair play to him.
never mind all the academic crap,the bloke has a great voice and is introducing people to music they wouldn't otherwise hear.
and as well as that - he can actually sing ! yes it is...never was much into opera, until I heard this humble man sing tenor! I'm a child of the 70's, I'm not suppose to like opera!
