snare drum is a main instrument. looking for piece title or video title. snare drum is in it, theme of video is a story line as people move up the endless stair case, camera stays still as the stairs move and people are marching on it, story continues to change through out the piece, believe a wedding takes place, a war happens (maybe not in this order). if you've seen it you'll know what im talking about, saw it long ago on a public access channel, though i'm sure it's fairly popular I don't know if this is the video you are talking about? There was a movie made called "Russian Ark" that maybe what you are talking about. Here's what wiki says:
