What is YOUR most difficult piece to play? |
On whichever instrument. It could be hard to play either technically or in terms of expression or both... The six Sonatas and Partitas of Johann Sebastian Bach for solo Violin. One must have many years of long and hard practice to even attempt to play this. One can make a few flaws with Kreisler and Sarasate, and get away with it. But with Bach, one can hear right away. Very fast and very chromatic! A challenge for ANY instrument! Sight-read piece :P One of the most difficult pieces to play on the piano...many famous pianists won't even attempt it b/c of it's extreme difficulty: the first piano etude bybGyorgy Ligeti entitled "Desordre". After the first 4 measures, he adds a note to a pattern in one of the hands and then the bar lines don't line up anymore...he continues to shake up the patterns in this way and it creates a fantastic poly-rhythmic adventure for the instrument...but it's a freakin' BEAST. Everyone I attempt. Kumbaya.... is that classical music? There are tons of difficult music for piano. Rachmaninoff Piano Concertos are a very good example. But for this answer I'd like to point you to the "Grand Galop Chromatique" by Franz Liszt. You mean what the most difficult piece I can Play? I play piano, and the hardest piece I can play is Beethoven's 23rd Sonata. Bach Double for violin. |
