Yamaha Vs. Kawai?

Hey, I am now looking at a Yamaha U3, and Kawai K-8.. How are these pianos next to eachother? Is the quality and sound on the U3 a lot better or are they very comparable, thank you for the input!

In general, Yamahas always have a better, longer-lasting tone and tone range, better action/response and better sustain capabilities. Kawai is sort of a cheaper copy of the Yamaha design, but some Japanese and Europeans prefer it because of its dead, metalic tone (don't ask me why they like that).
Of course, nothing can be compared to a Steinway, and I would recomend a Steinway unequivocally; unfortunately, not many people have the budget for one (I know I don't), but Steinways also has two subdivisions, Boston and Essex, which are manufactured by other companies (I think Yamaha and Kawai, I think) using Steinway's patents. They're not as good as a Steinway, but an Essex is better than a Yamaha, and about the same price. Check these out.
If you're stuck chosing between Yamaha and Kawai though, know that there is no comparison. Yamaha.

I like the Yamaha U3 best but I don't play alot any more.

defitiely the Yamaha... there's a reason they have such a good reputation!
