Why would anyone want to play a Tuba?

When I played the flute, I noticed the size of the Tuba, it's big as hell, and it's only got three buttons. Why the Phuk would you wanna blay a tuba? I understand the importance of the instrument, but willingly why would you?

I'm a flute player as well and i almost played the tuba to annoy the heck out of my parents :)
I guess it's just a personal preferance kinda like the kind of car you like to drive (truck, SUV, sports car, etc.)

Because the tuba is awsome! Dont hate on it, and everyone knows bigger is better XD

Well, why would you want to play the flute?

The same applies for the tuba.

It's essential in Orchestral Music from Wagner and after. Besides it's 5 times easier for a Tubist to get a permanent job in an orchestra than a violinist or cellist. Therefore, more financial security.
