My STUPID violin peg won't stick!!!!!!? |
My violin peg for my g string will stick everywhere except where I need it to go!! Is there any trick I can use to get it to stay, or am I going to have to replace my string all together? PIKA- If I push it farther then it is too high and is way out of tune. I have a concert in 4 hours, I NEED IT FIXED. mabey push it in further http://www.theviolinsite.com/faq.html on this site their is a link for something called peg dope http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006ZX... since you have a concert try something sticky apply it like you would the peg dope duck tape. first of i dont think that im understanding the question right this is all about a violin right?? Is there too much string on it? Try shortening the string to where it only wraps 1 1/2 to 2 times. You could also remove the peg and rub a little rosin on it. you just need a tad of friction, take it out and use a rough piece of sandpaper and give it a rough-up, it should stick (don't overdo it) If you don't have any peg dope, pencil lead or even chalk may help. DO NOT USE PENCIL LEAD...THIS WILL LUBRICATE IT. chalk.. like at school.. apply to surface of peg... like the part that goes through the scroll. chalk!! Did you try pushing the peg inside the violin rather than turning the peg? You could also go to your nearest violin shop and get it fixed if you can't figure it out yourself. |
