What are three similarities between classical and modern rock music?HAHAHAHAHA that's a good one. Oh... oh your serious. They both rely on stringed and percussion instruments as the main instruments (whatever you define piano as it's either string or percussion, and I have two music teachers who disagree). Still even in that is a difference because woodwinds and brass are heavily used in classical music just not as much as percussion (if piano is percussion if not it's just strings) or strings. In the eighties quite a few shredders did for guitar what the long list of piano comoposers (lyst, Chopin, etc) did for the piano, except Chopin and Lyst were brillant musicians Michael Angelo Batio not so much. There really isn't much similarity between a bunch of brillant musicians and a buch of musicians who use the same god damn chords over and over again (the first the fourth and the fifth). Also to play classical music, the degree of difficultly for the artist is much higher than "modern rock". I saw this album in my local record store and had to buy it. It was the Berlin Phil Harmonic (often citied as the greatest orchestra in the world) playing with the Scorpions. I can only imagine every violinist there was kicking themselves saying I should've picked up the guitar. I dont know about rock... but Rap is derived from Opera. Recitatives is Opera were just a basic floating on the vocal line (which is essentially what rap is!) |
