Trumpet: Which do you think is better: the bach stradivarius, the yamaha xeno or Schilke?

The Bach Stradivarius is the prefered trumpet by professionals around the world. No other trumpet has quite the rich sound that the Bach has. Schilkes are extemely well made, but they just don't have the sound. The only exception as far as popularity goes, would be the Schilke piccolo trumpet. I'd say that more people play the Schilke piccolo than any other, at least in the USA. But having said that, I actually prefer the sound of the Selmer piccolo. Yamaha worked closely with Schilke when they were designing their instruments. They are good but don't compare with the Bach sound.

I own trumpets made by Bach, Schilke, and Yamaha and I would always choose the Bach over the others.

I haven't played the other two, but it's hard to believe that they can match up to the strad. It's marvelous.

Bach Strad, hands down.
