ok, the movie Amadeus.
There is a humorous scene where it shows an Opera house, with Mozart in the audience. A scene of the Opera shows a horse excreting (I dont wanna say pooping) Wine, a dove, and other things.
Does anybody know if this is a real opera, and if so, whats its name? Thanks! They were spoofing both "Don Giovanni" (the midget sings), and they all gather at the end and sing from "The Marriage of Figaro". It would be comparable to vaudeville. Where did you see this scene? Not in an opera house during a live operatic performance, I would wager.
Nowadays in this country at least, I don't believe any kind of animals are permitted on the premises of opera houses or any gathering places like it, for public health reasons.
And I've never heard of an opera where an animal relieving themselves, is part of the plot.
Was the scene in the film "Amadeus"? I would suspect so; I haven't seen it. And one shouldn't trust the legitimacy of anything seen in any film.
Wotan I have not seen this movie in some time, but as far as i can recall, it seems to me that this part of the movie was at an opera or probably more correctly, an entertainment in which they were spoofing other composers works. |
